Patria has received an order for a study concerning F/A-18 aircraft's landing gear from the US Government. Patria's kinematic landing gear model and flight simulator model developed by the Helsinki University of Technology will be applied in the study. The order is an important acknowledgement of the aeronautical engineering capabilities in Finland and at Patria.
Patria has already during a decade developed advanced models based on numerical calculation. They have been successfully applied in aircraft life extension, design of repairs and to solve various technical problems. The F/A-18 landing gear study is regarded as a door-opener for export of this expertise.
Patria's Systems and Services Business Segment focuses among other things on aircraft life cycle support services and develops new methods in order to maintain and even further extend the customer fleet life time.
