DRS Receives an $11 M Contract, Including Options, to Conduct Installation Level Reviews of the US DoD's Fixed Fuel Site Facilities
(Parsippany, N.J., January 17, 2008) -- DRS Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: DRS) announced today that it received an $11 million contract, including options, from Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc., to conduct installation level reviews of the U.S. Department of Defense's (DoD) fixed fuel site facilities around the world. The work is part of a sustainment, restoration and maintenance contract awarded to Booz Allen Hamilton from the Defense Logistics Agency's Defense Energy Support Center at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
The work for this contract is scheduled to begin this month with completion expected by July 2011. The inspections will be accomplished by the company's DRS Technical Services business unit in Herndon, Virginia.
DRS personnel will travel to all of the DoD's fixed fuel site facilities to evaluate their condition and overall capabilities. Upon completing a thorough inspection and evaluation, the company will compile the data and report its discoveries to Booz Allen Hamilton for analysis and distribution to the DoD.
"DRS was selected for this contract due to its extensive experience designing, installing and maintaining fuel and water distribution and support systems," said Dr. Mitchell B. Rambler, president of DRS' Technical Services business segment. "Currently we are the systems integrator for the U.S. Army's Inland Petroleum Distribution System stationed at both domestic and international sites."
