GD Awarded $33 M to Provide DOIM Support at Fort Rucker

(Fairfax, Va., July 17, 2008) -- General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded a task order through the ITES-2S contract by the U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) to provide total information technology (IT) services to Fort Rucker, located in Alabama. The order has a total potential value of $33 million over five years, if all options are exercised.

The Fort Rucker task provides the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Management (C4IM) functional IT services ─ such as telecommunications, visual information, information assurance and automation ─ to support Fort Rucker Army Installation and the 14 field training sites outside the geographic boundaries of the post. Under the ITES-2S contract, General Dynamics will partner with the Fort Rucker Directorate of Information Management (DOIM) to provide their tenant commands with world-class C4IM services.

"Providing reliable C4IM services ensure that the Fort Rucker tenant organizations can perform their daily missions, supporting the aviation community," said Zannie Smith, senior vice president of the Army Solutions Division for General Dynamics Information Technology. "General Dynamics understands the vital role that the DOIM plays in providing stable IT and visual information support to increase soldier readiness and mission success."
